The history of the Oberversanthof runs deep. The original farm burned down nearly a century ago, but the land found new caretakers in Michael’s great-uncles, Tobias and Luis. They cultivated berries and kept bee colonies, producing honey high above the valley. Even then, innovation and a forward-thinking spirit shaped life on the mountain.

From a young age, Michael’s mother, Elisabeth, would run up to the Oberversanthof nearly every day to help her uncles on the farm. Years later, she and her husband, Thomas, made it their home, raising their children amidst the breathtaking landscape. Together, they dedicated themselves to developing the farm, always thinking beyond conventions and embracing new ideas.

The water at the Oberversanthof and the arduus comes from our own drinking water spring and is regularly tested. A water turbine generates electricity all year round, as do the photovoltaic systems installed at the farm. Thanks to the pioneering spirit of Elisabeth and Thomas, the farm was able to cover its own electricity needs many years ago.

Though perched quietly at the entrance of the Val Senales, where birdsong fills the air, life at Oberversanthof never stands still. The construction of arduus marks yet another milestone, an architectural blend of nature, design, and Alpine tradition, creating a retreat where guests can breathe deeply, unwind, and kick back.
